The G.B. Dudley Memorial Scholarship

The G.B. Dudley Memorial Scholarship is awarded to junior or senior undergraduate students majoring in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics at Eastern Illinois University. Recipients must demonstrate at least a B average in all academic studies and show strong aptitude in scientific work including observation, data analysis, problem solving, experimentation, and creative work. The scholarship emphasizes the recipient's intelligence, industry, thorough and consistent work, and genuine interest in their chosen scientific field. Additional selection criteria include the ability to search for new ideas and solutions, recognition of responsibility to society, and a strong desire and intention to pursue graduate work, preferably to the doctorate level. This scholarship supports students who demonstrate excellence in the sciences and commitment to advanced study in their field. The award amount varies and is designed to provide financial assistance to promising science students at Eastern Illinois University. Applicants are automatically considered through completion of the General Application.
