About this opportunity
The George and Celeste Vallance Bursary is a financial support award designed to assist students who identify as members of the LGBTIQ+ community and are experiencing financial hardship. The bursary is available to continuing domestic students enrolled in law programs at the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy.
Funding for this Award has been provided by George and Celeste Vallance, who are ANU Alumni and proud members of the LGBTIQ+ community. The bursary aims to support students facing financial difficulties while pursuing their legal education at the Australian National University.
The award provides a one-time payment of $1,000 to help alleviate financial burden for eligible law students. Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in either the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program or the Juris Doctor program. The College uses the National Debt Helpline's definition of financial hardship as the basis for assessment, which defines financial hardship as having difficulty paying bills and repayments when they are due.
