About this opportunity
The Global Greenwich Bursary is a dedicated funding opportunity offered through a partnership between the Global Mobility Team and the Fees and Funding team at the University of Greenwich. The bursary aims to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds access study abroad and internship opportunities. A scholarship of up to £2,000 is paid to students who are undertaking their first approved study abroad programme at the University of Greenwich. The bursary amount depends on the destination, length, and type of study abroad programme, as well as the eligibility criteria met by the students. The program is designed to support undergraduate home students who meet at least one of several criteria related to financial disadvantage or underrepresented status. The number of bursaries is capped at 20 for term or year abroad opportunities, and 150 for summer programme opportunities. All awards are allocated on a first come first serve basis, with students from disadvantaged backgrounds being prioritised. Term or year abroad opportunities open in the summer for September and January starts, with priority given to students going to expensive destinations such as the USA and Japan. Summer programme opportunities open in December for the following summer.
