About this opportunity
These scholarships are for school leavers or first-time tertiary students of Pasifika ethnicity from Porirua City or surrounding areas who are enrolling or intending to enrol in an undergraduate course in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship provides $15,000 total ($5,000 per year for three consecutive years) to support Pasifika students pursuing engineering and computer science education. The endowed fund was established by a charitable gift from the Porirua City Community IT Educational Trust (e-Learning Porirua) via the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation, with matching funds from the Office of the Dean, SHEADI. The scholarships honor Graham Kelly, former Porirua and Mana MP who established e-Learning Porirua in 2001. Preference is given to applicants who are actively involved in extra-curricular or voluntary activities in their school, church, or wider community. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress to continue receiving funding each year.
