About this opportunity

The Gregg Humanitarian Scholarship for Asylum Seekers and Refugees aims to financially support asylum seekers or refugees commencing an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney. Established in 2022 by The Gregg Foundation, this scholarship provides comprehensive financial assistance to help vulnerable students access higher education. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) of up to $60,000 per year, for up to 3 years. It is specifically designed for international students who hold asylum seeker or refugee status in Australia with specific visa types including Bridging Visa A, Bridging Visa E, Temporary Protection Visa, Safe Haven Enterprise Visa, Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa, or Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa. Applicants are selected based on a personal statement describing their personal circumstances. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must obtain a minimum mark of 50 in all subjects enrolled each semester and continue to hold the required visa status. The scholarship provides crucial support to help asylum seekers and refugees overcome financial barriers to education and build their future in Australia.
