The H. Edward Brazil Award for Undergraduate Use of Quantitative Methods

The H. Edward Brazil Award for Undergraduate Use of Quantitative Methods is an academic award offered by Eastern Illinois University's Department of Political Science. The award recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate excellence in using quantitative research methods in papers submitted for political science courses. Applicants must submit a research paper that was completed for partial fulfillment of course requirements in an undergraduate political science course, or for a graduate political science course taken by an undergraduate student. The award prioritizes papers with methodology appropriate for the research question, considering factors such as sophistication of approach, clarity of explanation, and fluidity of incorporation. Preference is given to Political Science majors, though this is not a requirement.
