About this opportunity
The Harold and Gwenneth Harris Endowment for Medical Humanities Scholarship was established in 2024 to support special programs and events in the Medical Humanities at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is made possible through a generous donation from the USA Foundation from Dr Rhonda L. Soricelli to honour the memory of her parents. The scholarship is valued at up to $3,000 for the duration of a project that aligns with Health and Medical Humanities, as broadly understood, and is separate from normal coursework or existing research required for degree completion. The scholarship is available to both domestic and international students currently enrolled full-time in any Faculty or University School at the University of Sydney. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and able to enrol in Semester 2/Research Period 3 2026 without completing their studies before that period. Collaborative group applications are also eligible, with each group member meeting the eligibility criteria and a group lead nominated for managing scholarship payments. Scholarship funds may be used for project-related expenses including materials, expert facilitators, training, research costs, and travel (excluding conference travel). Recipients must maintain enrollment in their degrees, remain committed to the project, meet agreed milestones, and complete progress reports, financial acquittals, a final deliverable, and presentation at a Showcase event.
