About this opportunity
The Heinlein Society offers five annual scholarships of $4,000 each to undergraduate students attending accredited 4-year colleges and universities. The scholarships include the Virginia Heinlein Memorial Scholarship (dedicated to female candidates), the Robert A. Heinlein Scholarship, the Dr. Yoji Kondo Scholarship, the Dr. Jerry Pournelle Scholarship, and a Bonus Scholarship. All scholarships are available to students majoring in engineering, mathematics, or biological or physical sciences who are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Applicants must submit a 500-1,000 word essay on topics related to Robert Heinlein's influence on science, technology, and society. The program is open to residents of any country attending accredited institutions that award Bachelor of Science degrees. Winners are announced on July 7th each year, and the application deadline is April 1st. The scholarship aims to support students pursuing STEM fields and encourages them to pay forward their education to benefit others.
