The Holt College Scholarship Program

The Holt Family Foundation offers a yearly renewable scholarship program for eligible Louisiana high school seniors and college students. The scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, an independent national organization. Recipients receive a $5,000 award annually. Undergraduate awards may be renewed for up to three years, or until an undergraduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first, with a maximum of four years of funding. Graduate study awards are also available. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by the sponsor. Selection of recipients is based on financial need (the primary factor), academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
