About this opportunity
Established in 2019 by an anonymous donation, The Humanitarian High Achiever Scholarship aims to financially support asylum seekers commencing undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney. The scholarship covers full tuition fees of up to $50,000 per year for the duration of the recipient's approved course. It is designed for international students who hold asylum seeker status in Australia and have completed an Australian Year 12 program (or equivalent) in the year before commencing study. Recipients must have been living in Australia for a minimum of 12 months before commencing study and must be commencing an undergraduate course of up to four years in the fields of STEM, architecture and design, commerce (excluding economics), or pharmacy. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement, and recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout their studies.
