About this opportunity

The Humanitarian Medical Scholarship is offered by the ANU School of Medicine and Psychology at The Australian National University. The objective of the Award is to provide one postgraduate scholarship (up to four years) to a student who is from a refugee background, undertaking the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program at the ANU. The scholarship provides $25,000 per annum plus a 100% full fee waiver, with payments made per semester for up to 4 years. Funding for the 2023 Award was generously provided by the John James Foundation. The scholarship targets students who hold a temporary Protection Visa, Safe Haven Enterprise Visa, or are Asylum Seekers on a Bridging Visa Type A or E. Applicants must not be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or permanent humanitarian visa holders, and must be first year medical students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program.
