The Inlaks Theatre Award

The Inlaks Theatre Award enables Indian theatre practitioners towards skill enhancement in the field of theatre. Skill enhancement may be explored by working with a mentor and participating in recognized training workshops, residencies, and other appropriate activities for a maximum duration of one year. The Foundation provides a monthly allowance of INR 15,000 for the duration of the programme, which should not exceed one year. For short-term awards of three months or less, the amount is paid upfront. For longer-term awards exceeding three months, payment is made in two installments with progress reporting requirements. The award is specifically designed for Indian citizens currently residing in India who are recent graduates or post-graduates from leading Indian theatre institutes, though exceptional applicants without formal degrees but with high-quality achievements may be considered. This is not a production grant and does not cover tuition fees for full-time theatre programmes.
