About this opportunity
The Ithaca Scholarship is offered by the Australian National University to support a domestic student from an educationally disadvantaged background who is from a rural or regional area. The objective of the award is to enable disadvantaged students to study at the University by providing financial support for educational and living expenses.
Funding for this Award has been provided by Professor Rod McDonald, a College of Science alumnus and strong advocate of the power of education to change lives. The scholarship provides $8,000 per annum for up to 5 years to assist with educational and living expenses, paid at the beginning of each semester subject to recipients meeting ongoing eligibility requirements.
Selection is made on the basis of applicants meeting the eligibility criteria and ranked by lowest ICSEA (Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage). The award is available to prospective ANU students who are domestic students, receive an offer of admission to an undergraduate degree program, and reside in a regional or remote area at the time of application. All applicants applying for admission to ANU through the direct Admission Scholarship and Accommodation Application will be automatically considered for the award.
The scholarship is renewable for up to five years based on maintaining full-time study load and meeting ongoing eligibility requirements as outlined in the conditions of award.
