About this opportunity
This prize honours Professor Joe Lee, former Head of History at University College Cork. It is awarded on an occasional basis for outstanding academic performance by history students at UCC. The prize recognizes exceptional achievement in the field of History, specifically for students who achieve First Class Honours. The prize is funded from endowments made by donors to the University for awards to be made in perpetuity, with the funds invested and annual income used for the award. Due to fluctuation in the investment market, the amounts available from year to year may vary, and the value is indicative only. The award may be given to a single-honours History student with overall First Class Honours, or alternatively to the highest ranked Major Honours student achieving overall First Class Honours, or to the Joint Honours student with the most First Class Honours in Third Arts as appropriate.
