About this opportunity
The Jerome De Costa Memorial Awards is an undergraduate scholarship in visual arts that supports first or second year Bachelor of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Advanced Studies students at the Sydney College of the Arts. This scholarship has been established to assist students with the costs of art materials and books related to their studies. The scholarship was donated to the University of Sydney by the de Costa family in memory of Jerome de Costa whose enrolment at SCA was sadly prevented by his untimely death. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, portfolio, and a personal statement demonstrating financial hardship and how the scholarship will support their studies. Eligible students must demonstrate financial hardship through one or more criteria including identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, low socio-economic status, carer responsibilities, long-term medical condition/disability, sole-parent responsibilities, regional and/or remote disadvantage, refugee status, LGBTIQ+, and/or first in family.
