About this opportunity
The Board of Trustees of the Journal of Women's History offers a research grant for scholars in the fields of women's and gender history. Funds are available to support travel, research, or writing of significant scholarly contributions in women's and gender history, with a preference for transnational topics. Individual grants will not exceed $4,000. Recipients are asked to acknowledge the JWH Board in publications that result from research conducted during this award.
Priority is given to scholars who are unaffiliated, adjunct, early career, or who lack access to research funding through their own institutions. The grant is open to all historians of women and gender, including those employed at universities, secondary schools, archives, libraries, museums, and parks.
Applications are reviewed by a grant review committee, with winners announced in October following the May deadline. The funding can be used for travel, research expenses, or writing support related to scholarly work in women's and gender history.
