About this opportunity
This scholarship supports Doctor of Medicine (MD) and MBBS students enrolled at the Westmead Clinical School, University of Sydney, to undertake elective term placements in developing countries. The scholarship specifically focuses on students learning about infectious diseases and/or medical care in developing countries during their third year of study. Established in 2017 through a generous donation by Miss Patricia Will, the scholarship aims to assist students who wish to gain international experience in areas of infectious diseases and medical care in resource-limited settings. The scholarship provides financial support for the elective term period, enabling students to pursue meaningful clinical and educational experiences abroad. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, curriculum vitae, references, personal statement, and the content and location of their elective term placement.
