About this opportunity
The Kathleen E Armstrong Bequest was established in 2000 from the estate of Kathleen Elizabeth Armstrong to support outstanding students undertaking studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. This scholarship provides financial support to students enrolled in full-time coursework or research degrees at the Conservatorium.
The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, portfolio and/or performance, and for postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential. No application is necessary as eligible students are automatically considered as part of their admission application to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and will be specified in the scholarship offer letter to successful recipients. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester, while postgraduate research students receive their scholarship as a fortnightly stipend.
To maintain the scholarship, coursework recipients must maintain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 each semester, while research students must pass their annual progress review. The scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and offers various benefits including leave arrangements for research students.
