About this opportunity
The Lawscot Foundation is committed to supporting talented young people who have the potential to benefit from, and contribute to, the legal profession. The aim is to ensure that, if you have drive and talent, money will not be a barrier to becoming a solicitor in Scotland. The Foundation gives priority to individuals from less-advantaged backgrounds, taking social and economic situation into consideration. The bursary covers each year of the LLB degree and postgraduate Diploma, with awards varying but approximately £2,750 per year, totalling up to £13,750 by completion of qualifications. Being supported by a mentor working in the legal profession is also part of the award. As well as the bursary and mentoring, this is a career development programme where all successful applicants are expected to participate in a programme of career-enhancing events throughout the year.
