About this opportunity
The Lovelace Trust is a small, Dorchester based charity that makes grants across England and Wales to children and young people aged 25 and under who are in need, hardship or distress. The Trust has a preference for supporting the relations of its founder, John Lovelace (1743-1806), who was born in Aylesbeare, East Devon. The Trust awards small grants or makes payments for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of young people in need. Apart from the relief of poverty, the Trust has also previously invested in the education and training of young people. The Trust's annual expenditure rarely exceeds a few thousand pounds each year. Grants are awarded retrospectively for the periods January-June and July-December. The trustees meet twice a year to consider applications.
