About this opportunity
The MacConaill Prize was established by the family of the late Professor Michael A. MacConaill in recognition of his outstanding and original contributions to knowledge of the functional anatomy of the locomotor system. The prize perpetuates his memory through an annual award to exceptional medical students at University College Cork. The prize is awarded to the candidate who demonstrates the most originality in their answers in the Second University Prizes Examination in Clinical Anatomy. The award is open only to registered second-year medical students who have passed their First University Examination in Medicine without compensation and whose aggregate marks are among the top 10% of the class in specified Anatomy modules. The prize consists of a cash award currently valued at €150, though this amount may vary based on investment market fluctuations as the award is funded from an endowment.
