About this opportunity

The Malcolm Turki Memorial Scholarship was established in 1997 by an endowment in memory of Malcolm Turki, a student in the School of Physics at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is valued at $7,500 per annum and provides financial support to outstanding students within the School of Physics in the completion of their Honours year, who might not otherwise be able to complete their degree due to financial hardship. The scholarship aims to encourage and assist students who have completed a major in Physics during their bachelor's degree and are commencing or currently enrolled in an Honours degree in Physics. Recipients must be Australian citizens and demonstrate financial need through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Equity Scholarship application. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, evidence of financial hardship, and a personal statement outlining the impact of the scholarship on their ability to study at the University of Sydney. The award is tenable for one year only and is paid in two instalments after the census date of each semester. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance and meet the requirements of their Honours program to continue receiving the scholarship.
