About This Opportunity

This scholarship supports commencing students studying political economy at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney who are experiencing disadvantage. Established in 2015 from a donation by Ms Mary Henderson, the scholarship provides financial support for undergraduate students majoring in Political Economy. The scholarship is designed to assist students who demonstrate financial need and personal disadvantage, including those with carer responsibilities, Indigenous Australian students, students with long-term medical conditions or disabilities, refugees, students from regional or remote areas, sole parents, or those experiencing other individual or family disadvantage. Recipients must demonstrate academic merit and explain their interest in studying political economy and how the scholarship will assist them with continuation and completion of their studies. The scholarship is tenable for the duration of the recipient's three-year undergraduate degree course, with an additional year available for those who enroll in the Honours degree in Political Economy.
