About This Opportunity

The Mayor's Opportunity Fund is a partnership between Community Foundation North East, Point North, and the North East Combined Authority (NECA) to support age-friendly community projects. This third round of funding will invest £225,000 in small charities and community groups across the North East region. The Fund supports the commitment to a fairer North East through creating opportunity and ensuring the region is cohesive, inclusive and resilient where everyone thrives. This funding round specifically targets organisations delivering activity that supports older people, aged 65 and over, helping them to remain independent and active longer. The Fund will consider applications for work that reduces isolation, addresses disadvantage, and showcases the region as one that values dignity and inclusion across all generations. Priority is given to organisations working in the most socially and economically disadvantaged parts of the NECA region, including isolated rural areas, and whose activity will benefit women, those with disabilities, and people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
