About this opportunity
The Merridew Foundation PhD Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to a PhD student at the University of Sydney undertaking research in the area of immune modifying nanoparticles at the Charles Perkins Centre. This scholarship has been established by a gift from the Merridew Foundation. The scholarship supports experimental research into the effects of exogenously administered nanoparticles during the pathogenesis of inflammatory disease, particularly in flavivirus infections of the central nervous system in animal models and in vitro, under the supervision of Professor Nick King. The successful applicant will be selected based on demonstrated academic achievement, research proposal, strong understanding of innate immunology of neurotropic virus infection, and excellent skills in in vivo infectious animal models, immunolabelling techniques, and multiparameter data analysis.
