About this opportunity
The Canadian Immigration Historical Society (CIHS) Molloy Bursary provides financial support to undergraduate students studying Canadian history, with a special emphasis on the history of immigration to Canada. The award is named after past-president Michael J. Molloy, who significantly expanded the CIHS's research potential through community partnerships and a passion for Canadian immigration history. Each year, a $1,000 bursary is awarded to a deserving student studying in either official language. The CIHS particularly invites newcomers to Canada to apply. Applicants must submit a 1,000-word essay explaining why the bursary is important to them and how they satisfy the eligibility criteria, which include engagement in the study of Canadian history, enrollment in a Canadian university in the second, third, or fourth year, financial need, proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, and participation in extracurricular activities demonstrating commitment to the study of Canadian history.
