The NC Safewater Fund Scholarship

The NC Safewater Fund Scholarship is a $3,000 award offered by NC One Water (formerly NC AWWA-WEA) to support undergraduate students pursuing water-related careers in North Carolina. Created by the NC One Water Board of Trustees, the scholarship aims to attract and retain industry professionals while supporting environmental education that enhances public knowledge about safe water. The award includes free attendance to the 2023 NC One Water Annual Conference and is renewable for up to four years for undergraduate students who continue to meet the qualification requirements. Recipients must be enrolled in a curriculum that emphasizes the protection of public health by providing healthful drinking water and/or protecting the quality and integrity of the water environment. The scholarship is made possible by the NC Safewater Endowment Fund and is paid directly to the financial office of the recipient's educational institution.
