About this opportunity
This scholarship was established in 2025 to financially support students studying a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Sydney. The scholarship has been donated by NSW Ministry of Health to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pursuing their medical education. The scholarship provides a one-off payment to help students who are experiencing financial hardship, with preference given to applicants from rural or regional locations in Australia who are at risk of withdrawing from their University course due to financial barriers or personal circumstances. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to the study of the Doctor of Medicine and provide evidence of experiencing financial hardship through factors such as low socio-economic status, carer responsibilities, long-term medical conditions, sole-parent responsibilities, or regional/remote disadvantage.
