About This Opportunity

The O'Hanlon Paving - The Fath Group Khristian Barayuga Memorial Bursary honors the memory of Khristian Barayuga, a young man known for his athletic energy, high integrity, and get-it-done outlook who valued family, hard work, and determination. Khristian earned his Civil Engineering Diploma at NAIT before his passing in October 2013. This bursary is available to students enrolled in the second year of the Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technology Co-op program at NAIT. The award is based on satisfactory academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be actively involved in athletics and/or extracurricular activities. To apply, students must submit a short essay (no more than two pages or 1000 words maximum) demonstrating how they exhibit traits similar to Khristian Barayuga, including his values of family, integrity, hard work, determination, friendship, and openness to new adventures. Applicants must also provide details of their involvement in athletics and extracurricular activities. The bursary amount varies and is awarded annually to students who embody the qualities that made Khristian a special and caring individual with a positive outlook on life.
