The Ormond Meat Marketing Scholarship

The Ormond Meat Marketing Scholarship is designed for students who have a passion for agribusiness and an interest in the meat industry, and who are undertaking undergraduate study to prepare them for a career in this field. Named after Sir John Ormond (1905 to 1995), a long-time chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, this scholarship recognizes students pursuing careers in agribusiness and the meat industry. The scholarship provides approximately $5,000 for one year's duration to support full-time undergraduate study in agriculture. Recipients may be enrolled in a Bachelor of Agribusiness, Bachelor of Agricultural Science, or other suitable degree programs. The scholarship seeks students with high academic achievement who demonstrate clear career intentions in relation to agribusiness and the meat industry. Selection is based on academic achievements, other scholarships or bursaries held, and the applicant's intention to pursue a career in the meat industry. Applicants must submit a statement explaining how the scholarship would benefit their study and how they meet the award's intentions, with specific reference to their career goals in agribusiness and the meat industry. One award is available annually.
