About this opportunity

The Patricia H Reid Endowment Scholarship is designed to support access and equity initiatives at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. This scholarship was established through a donation from the Patricia H Reid Endowment to provide financial assistance to students from low socio-economic backgrounds or those experiencing financial need. The scholarship is valued at $20,000 per annum and is available to both coursework and research degree students enrolled full-time at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. For coursework students, the scholarship is tenable for up to four years, while for research students the duration varies based on degree type and commencement date (up to 2 years for Masters by Research and up to 4 years for PhD candidates who commenced before 2019, with slightly shorter durations for those commencing after). Recipients are selected based on their personal statement and demonstrated evidence of disadvantage. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and promote equitable access to music education at one of Australia's premier music institutions. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments per semester, while research students receive fortnightly stipend payments.
