About This Opportunity

The President James Slattery Prize and Medal in Law is an annual award established by Dr. D.A. Slattery MBE, a descendant of James Slattery, the 3rd President of Queen's College Cork (1890-1897). This prize recognizes excellence among UCC Law graduates who are commencing research postgraduate degrees in the School of Law at University College Cork. The award is designed to support students pursuing either an LLM by Research or a PhD Degree in Law. The prize includes both a monetary award of €2,000 and a commemorative medal. Winners are selected through a competitive application process, with the decision made by the Dean of the School of Law and the Director of Graduate Studies, School of Law, or their nominees. The award honors the legacy of President James Slattery while encouraging advanced legal research at UCC.
