The Prize in Foundations of Medicine AnatBioPhys Year 1

The Prize in Foundations of Medicine AnatBioPhys Year 1 is an annual academic prize awarded at University College Cork to recognize exceptional performance in first-year medical studies. The prize is awarded to the candidate who obtains the highest mark in a Foundations of Medicine AnatBioPhys Year 1 prize examination, with a certificate awarded to the candidate with the second highest mark. The examination covers the entire course content of the current First Year Direct Entry Foundations in Medicine modules (FM1010, FM1020, FM1030, and FM1040). Eligibility is limited to First Year direct entry medical students at University College Cork whose aggregate marks place them among the top 10% of the class in the specified modules. The award consists of a medal and certificate for the prize winner, and a certificate for the second-place finisher. The awards are only given when high merit has been demonstrated.
