About this opportunity

The Professor Ivan J. Perry Award is an annual prize established to honor Professor Perry's distinguished career as Professor of Public Health and founding Head of the School of Public Health at University College Cork. Throughout his career, Professor Perry led groundbreaking research and developed the School from a small Department to the largest and highest ranking School of Public Health on the island of Ireland. The award recognizes his lasting legacy of evidence-based public health initiatives, including his work tackling issues such as obesity, heart disease, and mental health, and his roles in shaping academic research, building public health capacity, and influencing national policy. The award is presented annually to students who achieve first place in the Master of Public Health (MPH) campus programme and the MPH online programme. Awardees are announced at the School of Public Health's annual award ceremony.
