About this opportunity

The Rabbi Brasch Bursary is a postgraduate scholarship established in 2018 to assist students studying a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. The scholarship was donated by Liselotte Brasch and provides significant financial support to eligible medical students throughout their degree program. This scholarship is valued at $25,500 per annum and is tenable for up to four years. It is designed to support full-time students enrolled in the first year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at the University of Sydney. The scholarship annual value is paid in two equal installments after the census date of each semester. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, demonstrated financial hardship, and preference is given to students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, come from regional or remote areas, or have low socioeconomic status. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance to continue receiving the scholarship throughout their medical studies. This bursary provides essential financial support to help talented medical students focus on their studies without the burden of financial stress, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
