About this opportunity

The Ravenswood Independent Schools Scholarship offers students a unique opportunity to work at a leading Independent School within the Greater Sydney area. This scholarship is designed for teaching students in their final year of study who are pursuing degrees in education at the University of Sydney. The scholarship provides financial support to students studying English, mathematics, science, social sciences, languages, and/or TESOL. Recipients are required to spend one day a week at Ravenswood School for Girls during school terms and undertake an unpaid internship or placements at the school. Students will receive guidance from a mentor teacher and participate in academic, pastoral and co-curricular activities. The scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic records who will contribute to the curricular and co-curricular life of the school. Bachelor's degree applicants must have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75 across the past two years of study.

Selection based on academic merit (for bachelor's), personal statement, two academic referee reports, Professional Experience report, and interview for shortlisted applicants. Awarded by the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences after consultation with Ravenswood School for Girls and Head of School of Education and Social Work.
