About this opportunity
The Richard Bonney Literary Fund provides small grants annually for individual researchers and community organisations working in areas of tolerance and harmony in multi-faith and multicultural societies. The fund offers two distinct award categories: The Richard Bonney Research Awards provide grants up to £800 for individual early career researchers to facilitate research, meet publishing costs, attend conferences, or conduct research visits. The Richard Bonney Community Harmony Awards provide grants up to £1000 for small local community organisations conducting practical work in improving interfaith or multicultural relationships, such as creative projects, training volunteers, or holding social events. The fund was established in memory of Professor Richard Bonney (1947-2017), who was Professor of Modern History at the University of Leicester and an ordained priest of the Church of England, known for his expertise on different faiths and his commitment to tolerance and respect for different faiths and cultures.
