About this opportunity
The Rick and Rebecca Riordan Postgraduate Scholarship in Modern Irish is offered to graduates of University College Cork who pursue a masters programme in Modern Irish at UCC. The award is made at the discretion of the Department of Modern Irish and is only awarded to students registered for the MA in Irish with an exceptional academic record in Irish. This scholarship was endowed by Rick and Rebecca Riordan, with Rick Riordan being the author of the Percy Jackson series who completed a Masters in Gaelic Literature at UCC in 2021. The scholarship provides a fee waiver at EU fees level for the duration of the MA programme for up to two students. No application form is required, as applicants are automatically assessed after registration for the MA in Modern Irish by August 1st of the given year. The scholarship is awarded based on the student's academic record in Irish, with preference given to UCC graduates who demonstrate exceptional achievement in the subject area.
