About this opportunity
The Robert Floyd Marshall and Esen Marshall Memorial Scholarship provides financial support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students studying at the University of Sydney. The scholarship offers AUD$8,500 per year for the published full-time duration of the recipient's undergraduate degree, up to a maximum of 5 years full-time study or part-time equivalent. The scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded by a donation from Esen Marshall.
The scholarship is awarded based on a personal statement detailing how the scholarship will support the applicant to undertake their degree and details of financial hardship if applicable. Preference is given to applicants who can demonstrate financial hardship. The scholarship provides cash payments in two equal installments after the census date of each semester.
Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 50 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship is transferable to another coursework degree at the University of Sydney with approval. It does not cover appended Honours degrees or postgraduate studies, even if taken as part of a vertically integrated combined degree.
