About This Opportunity

The Robinson Family Scholarship for Female Indigenous Students (Law) is an undergraduate and postgraduate coursework scholarship that supports female Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking studies in Law at the University of Sydney. Established in 2018, this scholarship has been generously donated by Mr William and Mrs Karen Robinson to assist female Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking studies in Law at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $20,000 per annum and is tenable for the full-time duration of the student's degree up to a maximum of 1.5 years. The scholarship annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. To continue receipt of the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 60 each semester. Applicants must identify as a female Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney's Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity Policy 2015. Applicants must be enrolled in or have an unconditional offer of admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the University of Sydney Law School. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement which demonstrates the applicant's leadership experience, communication skills, personal interests and community engagement.

Review process

The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Dean of the University of Sydney Law School, or their nominated delegates, and at least one other member of staff from the School.
