About this opportunity
The Rotary Soukup Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking a postgraduate coursework degree in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 per annum and is tenable for up to 4 years, providing financial support throughout the duration of the recipient's postgraduate degree.
This scholarship has been generously donated by the Rotary Soukup Memorial Scholarship Foundation. The scholarship aims to increase participation and support for Indigenous students pursuing advanced studies in medicine and health fields. To be eligible, applicants must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, be an Australian citizen, and be enrolled or have an unconditional offer of admission into a postgraduate coursework degree within the Faculty of Medicine and Health.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship value is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester, subject to the availability of funds.
