About this opportunity
The Rowing Foundation provides equipment grants to UK rowing clubs and organizations involved in on-water rowing-type activities. The program awards grants as a 50% match to monies spent by the club on equipment purchased, up to a maximum of £4,000 in any five-year period. Applications must be non-elitist and either for the benefit of young people, those in full-time education, or for the disabled. The foundation prefers to encourage participation in rowing by the young or disabled through the provision of items which get them on the water, namely rowing/sculling boats, sculls, oars, riggers and parts thereof. Grants are awarded to established clubs with an active junior/student programme or with existing facilities suitable for disabled rowers. Applications must be for specific projects and purposes, such as purchasing a particular boat for a defined age group or skill level. The Trustees meet three times per year to consider applications, and all equipment purchased under this scheme must display a sticker indicating the contribution of the Rowing Foundation.
