About this opportunity
This scholarship supports postgraduate research students studying Japanese Studies to undertake travel to Japan as part of their studies. The scholarship is designed to assist PhD students to visit universities, research facilities and other appropriate resources, and activities connected with their research project, located in Japan. The scholarship is funded by a gift from Professor Sakuko Matsui and is awarded on the basis of academic merit, area of study and research proposal, budget, curriculum vitae, and a personal statement which demonstrates the need to undertake travel to Japan and how it is connected to their research. Recipients must travel to Japan within 12 months of the scholarship application closing date.
