About This Opportunity

The Simon Maddison Scholarship in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a merit-based scholarship for undergraduate students enrolling in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. The scholarship provides a cash bursary of £15,008 per academic year for up to 4 years. To be eligible, candidates must have an offer of admission from Imperial College London to study an undergraduate course in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, possess Home fee status, and have been assessed for financial support through Student Finance England (or equivalent) with a verified household income of less than £40,000 per annum. The scholarship is designed to support academically talented students from lower-income backgrounds pursuing studies in electrical and electronic engineering. Recipients are expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions and submit a short statement of progress each year. The scholar can choose to receive the full amount as a maintenance grant, or use part of it to pay tuition fees, with any remaining funds paid as a maintenance grant.

Review process

Academic merit is assessed from predicted A-Level results and UCAS application form. Applicants are ranked by the Department and final selection from the shortlist is made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
