About This Opportunity

The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust provides grants of between £650 and £1,500 for postgraduate study in all fields for students with demonstrable financial need. Founded in 1919 by businessman and philanthropist Sir Richard Stapley (1843-1920), the Trust supports the work of mature students of proven academic merit, and in financial need, who are pursuing further degree qualifications at an institution in the UK. Applications are open to students from all countries, but applicants must be resident in the UK at the time of applying, as well as during their course of study. All grants are made annually, and are normally between £650 and £1,500 to assist with the cost of postgraduate study. The application process is competitive, with the first 300 eligible applications received being assessed by trustees according to academic achievement and financial need. Applicants for full-time postgraduate higher degree courses may be supported for up to a maximum of three years and part-time postgraduate higher degree courses for a maximum of six years, but new applications must be submitted each year.
