About This Opportunity

The Southern Law Association, to mark its close and long-standing relationship with the School of Law, University College Cork, has agreed to provide an annual sum of €1,000 for the provision of the Southern Law Association Prize. The prize is awarded to the LLM student who obtains, at his/her first attempt at the relevant examinations, the highest mark for the 12,500 word (25 credit) dissertation across any of the LLM programmes offered in the School of Law. In the event that more than one student achieves the highest mark, the best dissertation of contemporary national and/or international significance which is of a standard worthy of publication, as determined by the Dean of the School of Law (or his/her nominee), shall be awarded the prize. The general arrangements for the competition governing this prize, and any related matters, shall be the responsibility of the Dean of the School of Law and the Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies in the School of Law (or their nominees).

Review process
