About this opportunity
The Swan Family Scholarship supports outstanding students from an Australian rural area enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Sydney. Established in 2014, this scholarship is designed to support students who have direct experience in the rural sector and demonstrate leadership skills with an active interest in rural affairs. The scholarship provides financial support for the full-time duration of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. Recipients must be Australian citizens or permanent residents from inner regional, outer regional, remote, or very remote areas of Australia as classified by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) - Remoteness Area framework. Selection is based on academic merit, evidence of rural or regional primary residential address, and demonstration of the applicant's leadership skills and commitment to their community, willingness to help others, and desire to contribute to issues affecting rural Australia.
