The Thomas Family Scholarship

The Thomas Family Scholarship is awarded to a Journalism major who has an unpaid or underpaid internship in the field of emergent media. Elisa Thomas, class of '95, and her family have established this scholarship to encourage students to work in new media—websites, blogs, social media, etc. A committee will choose a recipient based on a new media internship, financial need and academic excellence. The scholarship provides $2,000 to support students pursuing internships in emergent media fields such as social media, digitally native outlets, and immersive media. Applicants must demonstrate how the internship relates to emergent media and how it will help meet their academic and career goals.
