About this opportunity
The Timothy O'Toole Medal in General Practice was established by the friends, classmates and family of the late Dr. Timothy O'Toole, M.R.C.G.P., M.I.C.G.P., a 1980 graduate of University College Cork who worked in general practice in Cork from 1986 to 2003. This annual award honors his memory by recognizing academic excellence in general practice education. The medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest mark in the end of attachment written test in General Practice, which forms part of module CP5200 Principles and Practice of Internal Medicine and General Practice. In the event of two or more students achieving equal marks, the External Examiner is requested to arbitrate the medal winner. This prize is exclusively available to current UCC medical students who complete the general practice module.
