About This Opportunity

The Tweed Family Charitable Foundation offers a limited number of grants, usually for £10,000 per year for up to 3 years, to registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, including Community Interest Companies, in England and Wales. Grants are available for causes that inspire socially disadvantaged young people to achieve their full potential by developing their social, practical and life skills through mentoring, education and community activities. The Foundation's objectives focus on promoting life enhancing opportunities to socially disadvantaged young people under the age of 25. Such opportunities may be educational (in its broadest sense), or vocational, and should provide resources that would otherwise be inaccessible to the young people concerned without the Trust's financial support. The Foundation aims to inspire young people to live full and valuable lives and break the cycle of chaos that many experience. The Foundation supports initiatives with smaller groups that have a lasting impact over the longer-term. Programmes that seek to support large numbers through one-off presentations or experiences are unlikely to be supported. The trustees give greater consideration to applications that support socially disadvantaged young people in their teenage years. The Foundation is seeking to make 3 grant awards during 2025 to organisations with an annual turnover of less than £1 million, with an expectation that supported organisations have an annual income of less than £500,000.
